Learn to Sell Ad Space on Website to Make Money Online for Free
The easiest way to make money online for free is to sell ad space on your own website and earn advertising revenue.
To do so, you join a program that places ads on your web pages. The program tracks the number of times visitors to your website click on those ads, and pays you for each click. The best example is, of course, the 'Ads by Google' such as these that you see on many websites:

These ads are geared to the context of your webpage as well as what search terms the visitor used to get to that webpage. Hence the term 'contextual advertising'.
For instance, you've a webpage on fishing, or on bread-making. The contextual advertising program you've joined automatically checks the contents of that webpage and places ads for, fishing rods, or ebooks on fishing tips, or bread-makers, respectively on it. Whenever a visitor clicks on an ad, you get some money.
Anything from a few cents to a couple of dollars, but it adds up. Because the ads are targeted to what the visitor is looking for, they are more likely to get clicked, and so generate a nice little residual income for you.
Google's Adsense was the first major contextual advertising program, and is still the largest, but it must be said that it's not as easy as it used to be, to make a lot of money with Adsense.
But there are others coming up which are, or will be, good alternatives, such as Clicksor, Yahoo! Publisher Network, Searchfeed, and Microsoft AdCenter. All are free to join, allowing you to make money online for free.
How it works is that you first set up a website. Then once your site is getting visitors, you sign up with a contextual advertising program to sell ad space. The program provides you code which you insert into your webpages. The inserted code calls up relevant advertisements from an inventory of advertisers.
Your visitor then gets to enjoy both your website content as well as see links to relevant product advertisements. And you get some money when he clicks on any of them.
By the way, don't be put off by the thought of having to 'insert code'. They make it really easy for you to sell ads by giving you detailed step-by-step instructions. Half the websites on the internet do it.
